Workflow
If in the Planner the focus is on tasks, in Workflow the focus is on work units. In the Workflow section you can see at a glance the status of your workflow: which work units are to be planned, which are already planned, which are already in progress and which are completed.
The goal here is to move the work units forward to the right.
Although Workflow is similar to a kanban board, it is not possible to drag and drop directly on the work units to bring them to the next state: the work units will advance by themselves when we plan, execute and complete the tasks associated with them.
At the top we find the Workflow navigation bar that allows you to filter the work units by project and client and to create a new one. In the middle we find the work units organized by status.
To access the details of each work unit, simply click on the work unit itself. In the detail there are data and actions that you can learn more in this article.
.
The first column is that of the unplanned work units. In this column you can find both new (i.e. completely empty) work units and work units with tasks to be planned. The main action for work units with tasks is to plan tasks, while for new work units it is to create tasks.
When a work unit already has tasks in it, an arrow appears: by clicking the arrow you can open the list of tasks and you can also create new ones.
.
The second column is the column of scheduled work units, i.e. work units that already have tasks scheduled. By clicking the small arrow on each work unit, you can open the task list to get qualitative information about the status of the tasks, the planning date and also you always have the action to create new tasks.
When you create a task in an already scheduled work unit, a new card with the same name will be created in the "Unplanned" column, where the newly created task will be. When you schedule the task, the two cards will merge into the "Scheduled" column.
.
In the third column you will find the Work Units in progress, i.e. those with at least one task started. By clicking the arrow you will find the task list with information about the tasks, a green icon for completed tasks and the action to create new ones.
When you create tasks in an ongoing work unit, a new card with the same name will be created in the "Unplanned" column, where the newly created task is located. When you schedule the task, the two cards will merge into the "In progress" column.
.
In the fourth and last column you will find the completed work units, i.e. the work units with all completed tasks. By clicking on the X above the work unit, you can hide it from the Workflow so as not to clog the column (you will find the work unit of the associated project archive).
By clicking on the arrow, you will find the usual list of tasks with information and the action to create new ones.
When you create tasks in a completed work unit, a new card with the same name will be created in the "Unplanned" column, in which the newly created task is present. When you schedule the task, the two cards will merge into the "In Progress" column.
